WHAT IS THE MOST VALUABLE PIECE OF ARTISTIC ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED, AND FROM WHO?
“When I was a student and looking to apply for work, I had a portfolio with no direction. It was filled with animation, life drawing, layout, storyboards, and character design. The best advice I received was from my good friend and very talented artist Robin Joseph (Fox and the Whale) He told me to make a decision-think about what job I want to be doing, and direct my portfolio towards that, and only that. This was the best advice I ever received—it not only helped me focus, but allowed people looking to hire me to have a clear idea as how to best utilize my skill set.”
