WHY DO YOU CREATE SILKSCREEN PRINTS AND WHAT IS ARTISTICALLY SATISFYING ABOUT IT TO YOU?
“Silkscreening allows me to reduce the precious nature of making unique one-of-a-kind pieces. This makes my art accessible to the average person who might have a lower income, and to circumvent the pretensions of what I perceive as a generally elitist and fetishizing gallery system. I also enjoy the medium for its own sake—I love the puzzle nature of how various layers of color interact with one another, and the ability to create dense textures and patterns with drawn lines.”
