Animation industry veteran Bob Harper has joined forces with Dave Coulier (image above right), who plays Uncle Joey Gladstone in the ABC sitcom Full House and Netflix spin-off Fuller House, to launch a production company. Based in L.A., Grilled Cheese Media will develop and produce animated and live-action content aimed at families — what it describes as “visual comfort food.”
Coulier has experience in animation: the actor and comedian started out voicing characters in Hanna-Barbera’s Scooby and Scrappy-Doo and The Jetsons, and has also worked on Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies, The Real Ghostbusters, Bob & Doug, Robot Chicken, and American Dad! In addition to his acting work, he has directed six episodes of Fuller House.
Harper has worked in a variety of roles, including producer, director, animator, character designer, writer, and storyboard artist, for the likes of Cartoon Network, Walt Disney Television, and Nickelodeon. He co-executive-produced two seasons of The Misfortunes of Being Ned for the Annoying Orange Youtube channel, and co-executive-produced, wrote, and designed Prank Boy for Dreamworks TV. More recently, he was a director on Valt the Wonder Deer, a series produced by Dreameast Pictures for China’s Tencent Video.
