Previs studio Proof Inc. has opened a new permanent office in New York City, with Ari Aster’s next feature serving as the location’s first project.

The announcement came Wednesday at View Conference in Turin, Italy, where founder Ron Frankel will join a panel on the future of filmmaking later this afternoon. Proof’s global head of business development, Benjamin Riehl, also presented on the company’s work on Masters of the Universe.

Proof provides previsualization, postvisualization, technical visualization, and other production planning services for film and television. Its credits include Avatar: Fire and Ash, Stranger Things, the Jurassic World franchise, and the upcoming Harry Potter television series.

Frankel will oversee the New York operation while continuing to work out of the company’s Los Angeles headquarters. Proof also maintains operations in London and Australia.

The expansion marks a return to New York for Frankel, who began working in previsualization in Manhattan in the late 1990s at Pixel Liberation Front, an early specialist in CG production planning.

Proof has previously assembled New York-based teams for productions including Across the Universe, I Am Legend, and Salt, but this is its first permanent studio in the city.
