The exceptionally busy Canadian media company WildBrain is adding one of the world’s biggest kids’ franchises to its advertising network.
The company’s Media Solutions division has signed an exclusive deal to handle direct ad sales for Miraculous Corp’s digital properties, including channels tied to Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. Miraculous Corp is the joint venture established by Mediawan and Zag in 2024 to oversee the franchise.
Here are the key details:
- Miraculous will join the WildBrain Network, which includes more than 1,000 owned and curated kids and family channels across YouTube, FAST, and AVOD platforms.
- WildBrain already sells advertising around its own properties, including Teletubbies, Strawberry Shortcake, and Inspector Gadget, as well as brands from Spin Master and more than 100 third-party partners.
- There is a sizable audience on offer here. Miraculous has 53 million YouTube subscribers across more than 50 official channels in 44-plus languages. Those channels have generated more than 55 billion views and currently average around 900 million more per month.
- The flagship Miraculous series is now in its sixth season, with season seven due later this year. The franchise is also growing through the short-form Miraculous Chibi and the upcoming spinoff Miraculous Stellar Force.
- The Miraculous deal fits into WildBrain’s broader post-Peanuts strategy. After selling its 41% stake in Peanuts to Sony for $630 million Canadian earlier this year, the company said it planned to invest in its wholly owned franchises while expanding its digital network and advertising footprint across YouTube, FAST, and AVOD. Bringing Miraculous and its enormous online audience into that network looks like a clear step in that direction.
“As Miraculous continues to expand globally, we see significant opportunity to create new ways for leading brands to connect with our audience,” said Maria Doolan, head of content partnerships and distribution at Miraculous Corp.
