Icon Creative’s Original CG Feature ‘Charlie the Wonderdog’ Lands International Sales Deal With Global Constellation
Icon Creative Studio’s upcoming CG-animated feature Charlie the Wonderdog has been picked up for international sales by European distributor Global Constellation. The film has already secured pre-sales across key territories, including North America, much of Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Asia and Africa. Global Constellation will now handle sales in remaining regions such as the U.K., France, Scandinavia, Latin America, and Asia (excluding Mongolia and Vietnam).
This latest acquisition is part of Global Constellation’s growing slate of animated titles. Family-friendly animated films are among the most popular for global sales agents, and they are constantly in demand and often overperform in certain markets.
Featuring the voice of Owen Wilson, the family adventure follows a boy and his dog, who gains superpowers after an alien abduction. Together, they must stop a villainous cat and dog duo from contaminating the human food supply. Delivery is expected in late 2025.
Charlie the Wonderdog is directed by Shea Wageman, co-written with Steve Ball, and produced by Wageman alongside Carson Loveday.
The project comes from Icon Creative Studio, Canada’s largest independently owned CG animation studio. Based in Vancouver’s historic Gastown district, Icon handles the full pipeline of animation production, from design and storyboarding to modeling, rigging, animation, lighting, visual effects, and compositing. The studio combines creative and management teams under one roof, operating with a focus on production efficiency while maintaining high visual standards.
Primarily a service studio known for its partnerships with top global streaming platforms, Icon has worked on high-profile titles such as Disney+’s Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures and Monsters at Work, Nickelodeon’s Transformers: EarthSpark, and Netflix series like Action Pack and Super Monsters.
