DreamWorks First First ‘Shrek 5’ Trailer Takes Us Back To Far Far Away
DreamWorks Animation has released the first trailer for Shrek 5, offering the first substantial look at the long-awaited return of the studio’s flagship franchise ahead of its summer 2027 release.
The film reunites stars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz as Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona, respectively. Joining the cast is Zendaya as Felicia, the daughter of Shrek and Fiona. Felicia’s brothers, Fergus and Farkle, are voiced by Marcello Hernandez (Saturday Night Live) and Skyler Gisondo (Superman, Booksmart).
The sequel is directed by longtime franchise veterans Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn, both of whom have deep creative roots in the Shrek series dating back to its earliest installments. Brad Ableson serves as co-director.
Production duties are shared by Gina Shay, who produced Shrek Forever After, and Illumination chief Chris Meledandri.
The trailer arrives more than 25 years after the original Shrek debuted and went on to win the first-ever Animated Feature Oscar.
