Knights of Guinevere Knights of Guinevere

Glitch Productions, the Sydney-based indie studio behind Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus, has released the official trailer for its first-ever 2D animated series, Knights of Guinevere, offering a jaw-dropping early glimpse into its dark fairytale world.

Created by The Owl House creator Dana Terrace and series colleagues John Bailey Owen and Zach Marcus, the pilot premieres on Glitch’s YouTube channel September 19.

Described as “a psychological thriller that welcomes you to a planet-wide theme park in the clouds!… And the shadows below, where a broken Princess Android is two dreamers’ tickets to better lives, or the end of them…,” the series blends fairytale wonder with creeping sci-fi horror. The new trailer offers audiences their first full glimpse of the project, following an early teaser released earlier this year.

Knights of Guinevere‘s upcoming launch comes at a key moment for indie animation distribution. While traditional studios have cut back on commissions and acquisitions of teen and YA content, Glitch has built a loyal global audience by developing high-quality, internet-first projects outside the traditional studio system.

Founded in 2017 by brothers Kevin and Luke Lerdwichagul, the studio has grown from a bedroom operation in Sydney into one of the most-watched independent animation outfits worldwide. Its viral success recently led to a landmark deal with Netflix to license The Amazing Digital Circus, cementing Glitch as a rare example of an indie studio crossing into mainstream platforms and hopefully establishing a new paradigm for the distribution of independently produced animation.

For Terrace, the series marks her first major project since The Owl House, which ended its linear TV run in 2023. That series was widely praised for its heartfelt storytelling and groundbreaking representation of LGBTQ+ characters. With Terrace, Owen, and Marcus reteaming under the Glitch banner, Knights of Guinevere looks like one of 2025’s most exciting animated debuts.
