ViacomCBS has fleshed out its strategy for one-year-old streaming service Paramount+. It has reaffirmed that tried-and-tested animated IP is at the heart of things.

The parent company is doubling down on the branding by ditching its ViacomCBS moniker and renaming itself Paramount Global. It has also clarified that, whether through Paramount+ or SkyShowtime, it will have a streaming service available in over 60 markets by the year’s end. (SkyShowtime is a platform jointly run with Comcast that will launch in some European countries; its content will be drawn in part from Paramount+.)

Accompanying this news, Paramount Global unveiled new shows and catalog titles for its Paramount+ slate. All past episodes of South Park and Beavis and Butt-Head will come to the platform alongside new seasons and films. New Spongebob Squarepants, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are also on the lineup.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., Paramount Pictures movies will stream on Paramount+ following their theatrical runs as of 2024. That would cover new Spongebob and Paw Patrol movies, as well as original titles from Paramount Animation. NBCUniversal’s Peacock and Universal recently announced a similar arrangement.

Here is a rundown of what has been newly announced for Paramount+:

  • In 2022, all 310 episodes of South Park will launch internationally on Paramount+, which will be their exclusive SVOD home.
  • The entire library will exclusively join the streamer stateside in 2025.
  • As of season 27 in 2024, episodes will have their streaming premieres on Paramount+ in all territories.
  • As previously announced, South Park has been renewed up till season 30 in 2027, with episodes premiering on Comedy Central. Fourteen spin-off films were greenlit for Paramount+, two of which have already launched.
  • The library of 200-plus episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head will come exclusively to Paramount+.
