A Major Animation Studio In Baltimore? Outlook Enterprises Wants 150 People By 2024

Baltimore-based media production and animation studio Outlook Enterprises, which recently signed a deal with Cartoon Network, has its sights set on turning Baltimore into an animation hub.

Here’s what the company is planning over the next couple years:

• The company has leased an additional 27,000 square feet of space located in the recently restored Hoen Lithograph building on East Biddle Street in East Baltimore. Along with the physical expansion, Outlook Enterprises is planning to add 150 new full-time jobs by 2024.
• To help cover project costs, the Maryland Department of Commerce has approved a $450,000 conditional loan through Advantage Maryland, while Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC) is providing another conditional loan of $200,000. Additionally, Outlook Enterprises is eligible for various state and local tax credits. According to a recent SEC filing, the company is also working to raise millions of dollars in private equity.

• Outlook Enterprises was established in 2006 by NFL veteran Trevor Pryce. It specializes in owning and producing technology-driven, youth IP, and pop culture animated and live-action content. The company also operates OVFX, a 2d/3d animation studio.
• The company has ongoing partnerships with broadcasters and streamers including Netflix and Nickelodeon, and recently teamed with Cartoon Network to launch Neru Projects, a talent incubator for Baltimore artists from underrepresented communities.
• “Outlook Enterprises’ expansion will not only help the company reach its full potential, but it will also help enhance the Baltimore City business community,” said Maryland governor Larry Hogan in a release. “We are looking forward to the outcomes of this project and the benefits it holds for Baltimore’s job market.”
• “We chose Baltimore for its perfect blend of technology, art, and know-how. As a computer-based animation studio, we could have set up operations pretty much anywhere. It all came down to will and support,” said company founder Pryce. “As one of the first animation/vfx studios in the region, we couldn’t be happier with the decision to park Outlook in Charm City.”
