adventuretime-book-cover

Animated TV series don’t often receive lavish ‘art of’ book treatment, but Adventure Time is unlike your average TV show. Next Tuesday, October 14, Abrams will release the massive 352-page Adventure Time: The Art of Ooo, documenting the show’s visual and creative process. The book was authored and designed by Cartoon Brew’s very own Chris McDonnell, who is the editor of our popular Artist of the Day section.

The following images represent a small sample of the 500-plus images that will be included in the book. Click to enlarge and read the captions. Pre-order Adventure Time: The Art of Ooo on Amazon for $24.92.

I demand the summoning of this sweet book NOW!

I thought we had reached “peak” art-of books, but I guess that only applies if it is anything related to the CARS franchise.

respectfully, as an artist, your statement makes no sense to me. in fact, there are not enough “art of books”.

      • DangerMaus

It makes more sense when you read Amidi’s rant about an Art-of book for PLANES. I have no problem with art-of books; although, they don’t really appeal to me.

Not only is it great to see the thought process behind the character designs, the universe this show has spawned is incredibly imaginative. For me this show is a hundred times more influential almost any piece of animation released in the past 10 years. I can’t get over how good it is!

  • KW

If I find a show that inspiring for me, how is that not a good thing?

  • Mr. GuyDude

I need this book in my life.
