Today’s Funny Pages

The comic strip pages have been having their way with Disney characters lately. Here are two from today’s paper: Speed Bump by Dave Coverly and Argyle Sweater by Scott Hilburn. Click on thumbnails above for larger images.

The Speed Bump one is made funnier when you know that Wayne Allwine (the current voice for Mickey Mouse) and Russi Taylor (the current voice for Minnie Mouse) are, in fact, married and I think the voice acting gigs were how they met.

    Very cute. I liked them.

I like them a lot, but isn’t Pinocchio really only a Disney character in the context of the character design for that particular adaptation? The depiction here is arguably wearing similar clothes, but I think the design is unique enough that perhaps they’re using a famous literary character for the joke more than a Disney character?
