It was only a matter of time before someone decided to try and release a “big” theatrical Thanksgiving children’s film. I’ll probably pass on this one.

  • George Comerci

I’ll probably see this out of curiosity, not really coming out as a must-see for me. And a first comment on a Cartoon Brew post…never happened to me before.

      Not quite first comment :)

Should be a big draw with the tofu turkey set.

  • How is this going to be marketed in countries that do not celebrate Thanksgiving? (ie – all the other countries in the world except Canada a bit).

    • Time Traveling Bird

It’s not a Thanksgiving movie, it’s a time travel movie. Thanksgiving is an obvious added bonus for here in the states, but internationally the focus is about the time travel or so I would assume.

      • So it’s a time travel movie about Thanksgiving?

        • SuperWittySmitty

The rest of the world understands Thanksgiving. It’s like Diwalli or Cinco de Mayo- universally understood.

Funny that every body on the posters is on that extreme contact running pose.

It tells you a lot about the disconnection between marketing and production, which happens like everywhere.

“Hang on to your nuggets.” sounds like a terrible slogan to use to sell an animated film.

    • SarahJesness

It doesn’t even make any sense. Americans, at least, usually associate nuggets with chicken, not turkeys. Chickens and turkeys aren’t even in the same genus!

When I was little, there used to be a restaurant in New Jersey called the Turkey Farm–it’s not around anymore, but I recall there being turkey nuggets on the kids’ menu–even though they were more like turkey tenders if you ask me…

It does seem sort of a clumsy attempt to tell parents it’s more than just a children’s show.

Well the video isn’t working but to those who can see it, are the mouth movements as noticeably strange as they are in the other trailer?

    • RickyB

Gotta love trailers these days, getting especially bad in animated trailers, where they replace the audio in one scene for another’s. “No one will notice the shoe horn”.

    • ya lip syncing looks off…

Am I the only one who finds it worth noting that this was co-written and produced by Scott Mosier of Kevin Smith’s SModcast?

  • Barry

There was no steteotyping. Just because the characters exist doesn’t mean it’s a racial stereotype. Indians did look as depicted the last time I checked…

  • Stan

No, this one is made by Reel FX. They have done some really great stuff like the CG remakes of Wile Coyote and Road Runner…
