Kill Bill Vol. 1 Kill Bill Vol. 1

Quentin Tarantino’s modern classic, Kill Bill, is heading back to cinemas this winter, with an additional 7.5 minutes of never-before-seen animation. Lionsgate will release Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, the long-anticipated single-cut version of the two-part epic, on December 5.

The original Kill Bill: Vol. 1 famously integrated anime storytelling, most notably O-Ren Ishii’s blood-soaked origin in a sequence produced by Japan’s legendary Production I.G. The new passage will continue that same visual tradition, expanding the film’s universe with even more ultra-violent elegance. Though plot details are being kept secret regarding the addition, the new material is said to deepen the lore of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad and blend seamlessly with the film’s original animated segments.

This marks the first time audiences will see the complete Whole Bloody Affair as originally envisioned by Tarantino, uninterrupted and without the cliffhanger from Vol. 1 or the recap that opened Vol. 2. Select screenings will showcase the film in 70mm and 35mm.
