NEW YORK—July 12, 2011— Nickelodeon’s The Fairly OddParents scored a top-ranking 5.8 million total viewers this week with the premiere of A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner! (Saturday, July 9, at 8 p.m. ET/PT) . The telecast, basic cable’s top show this week, also ranks as the number-one original TV movie on basic cable with kids and total viewers this year.

Starring Nickelodeon favorites Drake Bell ( Drake & Josh), and Daniella Monet ( Victorious ), the hour-long original scored basic cable’s top spot for the week with total viewers and is the number-one program across broadcast and basic cable with all kid demos. The movie had double-digit gains across every demo, averaging a 8.1/2.9 million K2-11 (+80%), 9.9/2.1 million K6-11 (+74%) and 8.7/1.8 million T9-14 (+85%). A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner! also bested the closest competitor in the 8-9 p.m. timeslot by triple-digits with kids 2-11 (+138%), kids 6-11 (+111%) and tweens 9-14 (+164%).

Since its debut in March 2001, The Fairly OddParents has consistently ranked among Nickelodeon’s top programs. In 1Q11, The Fairly OddParents reached 17.2 million kids 2-11 and 50.7 million total viewers.

A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner! follows the adventures of a now 23-year-old Timmy Turner (Bell) who refuses to grow up in order to keep his fairy godparents. Timmy’s resolve to stay a kid forever is tested when the once gawky, now gorgeous Tootie (Monet) returns to town and he must choose between her and his beloved magical fairy godparents. The movie, from series creator Butch Hartman, also features TV veterans Jason Alexander ( Seinfeld ), Cheryl Hines ( Curb Your Enthusiasm ) and Steven Weber ( Parenthood ).
