Here’s an impressive facial animation test by Blur Studio that moves with a good balance of fleshy, organic motion. All the muscles and bones feel like they’re in the right place and the eyes communicate convincingly:

Mathieu Aerni wrote in the video description: “I sculpted, textured and shaded this head for that animation test done at Blur Studio. I basically hand-sculpted 3 expressions in Zbrush and the resulting displacements where animated to get those folds and skin details. Amazing work from Kevin Margo and Blur’s animation and rigging team!”
