Webtoon Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation (WBA) are joining forces on one of the largest webcomic-to-animation pipelines yet. The companies announced plans to co-produce 10 animated series based on popular Webtoon titles, marking a major expansion of Webtoon’s push into adaptations.

The agreement, which the companies intend to finalize soon, will draw from both Webtoon’s English- and Korean-language platforms and involve development support from Webtoon Productions in the U.S. and its Japanese IP teams. For Webtoon, which has steadily expanded its adaptation footprint across anime, live-action, and streaming, the WBA partnership signals a significant step forward in ambition.

In a release, Webtoon chief strategy officer and head of global, Yongsoo Kim, said:

Webtoon has become one of the most exciting sources of original storytelling in entertainment today. Our Creators are building franchises that Gen Z audiences love, and working with Warner Bros. Animation gives us an incredible opportunity to take those stories further alongside one of the most respected names in animation.

WBA president Sam Register echoed the sentiment:

Bringing together the world-class artistry of Warner Bros. Animation and the vibrant storytelling of Webtoon creates an awesome combination and opportunity to build something special. I cannot wait to get started!

The initial slate includes Hong Dae Ui, juno, and Q10’s The Stellar Swordmaster; Sehoon Kim’s Hardcore Leveling Warrior; Pookie Senpai’s Down to Earth; and Victor Rosas II’s Elf & Warrior, all long-running favorites on Webtoon that collectively reach millions of readers.

The companies plan to adapt genres ranging from fantasy and romance to action gaming and comedic adventure, reflecting the platform’s broad readership.

More titles from the 10-series slate will be announced later.
