Powerhouse Kids And Family Distributor APC Kids Rebrands As Madgic Distribution
APC Kids has officially rebranded as Madgic Distribution, a significant milestone in its integration into the burgeoning Madgic group. The name change comes just months after Madgic acquired a majority stake in the youth-focused distribution company, which also includes animation outfit Zephyr Animation.
Veteran executive Lionel Marty will now helm both Madgic Distribution and Zephyr Animation, known for hits like Lana Longbeard and Mogu & Perol. Co-founder David Sauerwein continues in his creative role at Zephyr.
This move solidifies Madgic’s position as a major player in global kids and family entertainment. The newly branded Madgic Distribution boasts a robust catalogue of over 1,800 episodes across 50 series, featuring animation and live-action content for all ages. Flagship titles include Jade Armor, Angelo Rules, Isadora Moon, Emerald, and Walter’s Christmas, with global presence on top-tier platforms and broadcasters.
Madgic itself was born from the 2022 merger of French animation studios 2 Minutes and Label Anim, both renowned for quality storytelling and technical versatility in 2D/3D animation and documentary production. With studios in Paris, Angoulême, La Réunion, and Nanjing, and shows airing on Netflix, Disney+, and PBS among others, Madgic is scaling up rapidly.
“Now that we have seamlessly integrated into the Madgic group, we felt it was time to rebrand as Madgic Distribution,” Marty explained. “It is business as usual, and we will be heading to Le Rendez-Vous in Le Havre and MIPCOM in Cannes over the next few months with a robust slate of animation and live action for kids of all ages, and we will continue to work with international producers to help develop, finance, co-produce, and distribute their content.”
