‘CoComelon: The Movie’ Gets 2027 Release Date
Universal Pictures has officially dated CoComelon: The Movie for a February 26, 2027, theatrical release, marking the first feature-length outing for Moonbug Entertainment’s preschool juggernaut.
The CG-animated film is being produced by Moonbug in collaboration with Flywheel Media, Prime Focus Studios, DreamWorks Animation, and DNEG, which is also handling animation. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the movie will follow JJ and his friends on a new music-filled adventure that builds on the show’s signature blend of songs and social-emotional lessons.
Since its 2020 acquisition by Moonbug, CoComelon has grown into one of the world’s most-watched kids’ brands, with more than 4 billion monthly YouTube views across 80+ countries and 20 languages.
The franchise has been the gold standard for digital-first expansion and has branched into toys, games, live shows, and major streaming platforms, including Netflix, where it became a consistent top performer, and Disney+, which will begin carrying the series in 2027.
The property has also spawned several spinoffs, including CoComelon Lane, CoComelon Classroom, Cody Time, Nina’s Familia, and JJ’s Animal Time.
The CoComelon feature announcement adds to a particularly busy period for the film’s production partners: Flywheel Media and Prime Focus Studios are also working on The Angry Birds Movie 3 for next year, while Prime Focus recently co-produced The Garfield Movie and is at work on Animal Friends with Legendary and Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort.
