Cartoon Forum 2025 Brings 75 European TV Projects To Toulouse
Europe’s animation industry will gather in Toulouse this week as the 36th Cartoon Forum runs September 15–18. The annual pitching and co-production event will showcase 75 new animated series and TV specials from across the continent, offering producers the chance to secure partners for development, financing, and distribution.
This year’s line-up was selected from 108 submissions, representing 20 countries, totaling 391 hours of new content with a combined budget of €339.5 million ($399.2 million). A list of this year’s selected projects can be found here.

- 2D animation dominates (68%)

- 27% are adaptations from comics, books, or other media
Alongside pitches, Cartoon Forum features a packed agenda of networking and industry sessions. Highlights include the second Animated UK Meets Europe, spotlighting British talent with BBC- and S4C-selected projects like Amelia Fang and The Adventures of Robin Robin. The EBU Co-Development Initiative will again see 15 European broadcasters choose at least one project to receive development support.
New matchmaking sessions and the Fill the Gap showcase aim to help producers secure funding amid ongoing economic challenges. Meanwhile, the Cartoon Forum Tributes will honor standout broadcasters, distributors, and producers, with nominees including TF1, RTVE, DR, Mediatoon Distribution, and Studio FILM BILDER.
Emerging talent will also be spotlighted, with over 80 students from 13 schools in Toulouse and Occitanie taking part in workshops, masterclasses, and a Mini-Pitch session as part of the Coaching Program.
Since its launch in 1990, Cartoon Forum has supported over 1,000 animated series, helping raise nearly €3.7 billion in financing. With a strong showing of new IPs and first-time participants this year, the 2025 edition underscores its role as a driving force in Europe’s animation future.
