Pictoplasma has finalized the speaker list for its fifth New York City conference, which will take place on on November 4, 2016.

The one-day event brings together illustrators, visual artists, designers, and, animators, all of whom create character-driven work. On the animation side, the speakers are Ben Bocquelet, creator of the Cartoon Network series Gumball, Pittsburgh-based indie animator Julian Glander, and independent filmmaker Kirsten Lepore, who recently directed the stop motion episode of Adventure Time, “Bad Jubies.” A screening of contemporary animated shorts will also take place during the conference.

Other speakers at the November event are:

  • Jean Jullien, who created the instant-classic “Peace for Paris” symbol after last November’s terror attacks in Paris
  • Japanese artist Motomichi Nakamura
  • Slovakian illustrator Martina Paukova
  • Spanish artist Jaime Alvarez, creator of the Mr. Kat character brand
  • New York-based illustrator You Jung Byun

The cost to attend the one-day conference is $260. Attendees can register on the Pictoplasma website. Two lucky Cartoon Brew readers can win tickets to the event.
