Invisible Universe Studios has appointed former Disney and Skydance executive Jonathan Schneider as its new president.

In the role, Schneider is tasked with leading Invisible Universe Studios as it adopts new technologies including AI, motion capture, and real-time rendering. He is also expected to create new business verticals for the company.

Invisible Universe runs a studio to watch. The company has big-name backers and an all-encompassing format for creating IPs that focuses on building fanbases online before attempting more traditional means of distribution.

  • Schneider was most recently senior VP of operations and business strategy at Skydance. Before that, he was VP of strategy at Disney Television Animation. He also previously served as manager of animation development at Nickelodeon.
  • Invisible Universe Studios is an IP-focused animation studio that focuses on creating and incubating properties on social media platforms before expanding them to more traditional distribution channels like tv, film, publishing, merchandising, and licensing. Big-name investors in the company include Seven Seven Six, TCG, Serena Williams, Jennifer Aniston, Cassius Family, and Will Smith’s Dreamers VC.
  • The company has launched seven brands so far, including Qai Qai, inspired by Serena Williams’ daughter’s favorite doll; Clydeo, inspired by Jennifer Aniston’s rescue dog; and Ember, about a rebellious princess.
  • The Qai Qai animated series launched on Youtube in January of this year and has been viewed more than 38 million times since, with another 1.5 billion views across the property’s social media accounts.
  • In a release announcing Schneider’s appointment, the new president said: “Invisible Universe is pioneering what it means to be an animation studio in a digital-first world, blending technology and new approaches to storytelling to develop franchises. I’ve been impressed by what Tricia and team have built so far, and I’m thrilled to join them as the studio continues to grow.”
  • Invisible Universe co-founder and CEO Tricia Biggio said: “Jonathan is a bit of a Hollywood unicorn in that he has straddled both creative and operations at executive levels for some of the biggest companies in media. He shares the vision for Invisible Universe to continue redefining what it means to launch new franchises for this next generation.
