Paramount may have denied Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender the theatrical release it deserved, but fans will at least get the chance to own the film on physical media.

Paramount+ and Alliance Home Entertainment will release the animated feature on Blu-ray and DVD on November 3, followed by a 4K Ultra HD SteelBook on February 9, 2027. The Blu-ray and 4K editions will include digital copies, although no supplemental features have been announced.

Developed as a theatrical feature, Avatar Aang endured several delays before Paramount abandoned its wide release and sent it directly to Paramount+ in July, save for a token one-week run in a handful of New York and Los Angeles theaters and an unauthorized online leak. The decision was particularly frustrating given the franchise’s popularity and the years of work that went into Avatar Studios’ first feature.

Directed by Lauren Montgomery and co-directed by Steve Ahn and William Mata, the film follows an adult Aang searching for an ancient power that could save the Air Nomads. Its voice cast includes Eric Nam, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, Steven Yeun, Dionne Quan, and Dave Bautista.

After such a clumsy initial rollout, the physical editions offer the film and its artists a welcome measure of permanence and give fans a chance to ensure the film can never be taken from them, as streaming platforms have proven likely to do in the past.
