The first image has been released from Early Man, Nick Park’s first feature since Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

The poster suggests a Wallace & Gromit-esque duo at the forefront, and the human in it is presumably the previously announced “plucky caveman” who unites his tribe against an enemy in the football-themed comedy.

According to Deadline, Studiocanal has presold the film in most territories, although it is still negotiating distribution for China, Japan, Italy and South Korea.

Studiocanal also still hasn’t chosen a U.S. distributor, but is in discussions with multiple companies. Deadline suggests that Early Man is “more likely to go to an independent than a studio.” Lionsgate, which will release Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep in the United States, and the Weinstein Co., which distributed Studiocanal’s Paddington stateside, are both considered leading contenders to win U.S. distribution rights for the Nick Park film.
