‘Zootopia 2’ Teaser Offer First Glimpse Of Sequel To Disney’s Oscar-Winning Film

Walt Disney Animation Studios released the first teaser trailer for Zootopia 2 this morning and … (spoiler) … if you like the first Zootopia, you’ll probably like this film too.

The studio is counting on that actually. The teaser offers little in the way of revealing anything about the new film while showcasing various scenes of new and returning characters. Many (if not all) of the shots appear to be custom-created for the teaser and not from the actual film.

Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, Zootopia 2 will open in U.S. theaters on November 26, 2025. The synopsis:

Judy and Nick find themselves on the twisting trail of a great mystery when Gary De’Snake arrives in Zootopia and turns the animal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, they must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.

Bush has said that the film will take viewers into previously-unexplored areas of the metropolis of Zootopia including the marshes of semi-aquatic mammals and vast desert dunes.

For the record, the song in the trailer, “Zutu,” is attributed ot Lemeens, Zootopia’s “finest lemming techno group” formed by lemmings Hans-Peter, Gūnther, Spielt and their DJ, Spaß.
