Annecy has unveiled its 2026 selections for TV Films and Commissioned Films, offering a snapshot of how animation continues to operate across both long-form storytelling and everyday media.

Together, the two sections span a typically broad geographic range for the world’s oldest and most important animation festival, with particularly strong presences from France, the U.S., Japan, and China, alongside entries from Taiwan, Iran, Georgia, Egypt, Portugal, Kosovo, and beyond.

The TV Films lineup leans into serialized and special-format storytelling, mixing major franchise entries (SpongeBob SquarePants, Star Wars, Love, Death + Robots) with international indie standouts like Il Baracchino and Ewilan’s Quest.

Meanwhile, the Commissioned Films competition highlights animation’s omnipresence in daily life, from music videos and festival trailers to public-awareness spots and commercial work.
