The Tribe Has Spoken, Paramount Animation Developing Animated ‘Survivor’ Feature
Paramount Animation is developing an animated feature based on CBS’s long-running reality competition series Survivor, the company announced on Wednesday.
The project, which will be executive-produced by longtime Survivor host and producer Jeff Probst, is described as an animated comedy set in the animal kingdom. According to the official logline, the film is set on a remote, mystical island where animals from around the world compete for the chance to be crowned the sole Survivor.
The feature represents an effort by Paramount to expand one of CBS’s most successful franchises beyond the small screen and into theatrical distribution. Rights to the property are shared among CBS, Banijay Entertainment, and Amazon MGM Studios.
Few details about the project have been revealed beyond its premise. No director, writer, cast, or release window has been announced.
The film joins a growing slate at Paramount Animation, which is led by Jennifer Dodge. The division recently announced The Naughty List, an original holiday feature from Robert Rodriguez, and is preparing to release PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie on August 14.
Survivor debuted on CBS on May 31, 2000, and remains one of television’s most successful reality franchises. The series, hosted by Probst throughout its run, is currently in production in Fiji, with new editions scheduled to air on CBS in fall 2026.
