Don Hertzfeldt’s World of Tomorrow has won the animated short category at the SXSW Film Festival, currently taking place in Austin, Texas.
It’s the second big festival win for Hertzfeldt’s latest effort, which also took the Short Film Grand Jury Prize at Sundance earlier in the year. World of Tomorrow will be made available through video-on-demand on Hertzfeldt’s website at the end of March.
Teeth, by Holbrooks, aka UK-born directing duo Tom Brown and Daniel Gray, was recognized with SXSW’s special jury recognition award in the animation category. Teeth is the story of a misguided and intensely focused man, “chronicled through his oral obsessions.”
