Hank and Peggy Struggle With Modern Texas Life In Hulu’s ‘King of the Hill’ Reboot Trailer
Hulu has released a new trailer for the upcoming 14th season of King of the Hill, which debuts on August 4. The revival is led by original creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, with Saladin K. Patterson serving as showrunner.
The series picks up several years after the original run, and sees the Hills struggling to adapt to modern life after years spent abroad:
- Hulu’s Logline: “After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas, to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane.”
- The series voice cast includes Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss.
- Ronny Chieng will be the new voice actor for Khan Souphanousinphone, the Hills’ Laotian neighbor.
- Chieng replaces Toby Huss, who voiced Kahn for the show’s first 13 seasons. In the revival, Huss will voice Dale Gribble starting with Episode 7, replacing the late Johnny Hardwick, who passed away in 2023.
- The original Emmy-winning series, which ran from 1997 to 2010 on Fox, is currently available on Hulu. According to a previous release from the streamer, a King of the Hill reboot has been in the works since 2017’s San Francisco Sketchfest, where Judge and Daniels reconnected with the cast to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary.
The new season is produced by 20th Television Animation. Executive producers include Judge, Daniels, Patterson, Michael Rotenberg, and Howard Klein.
