Two years after planting its flag in France, and just months after saving Mikros Animation following the collapse of its previous parent company, Technicolor Group, Rodeo FX is strengthening its European presence with a new, consolidated Paris studio.

The company, known for its work on titles like Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, said this week that its Paris-based divisions, including film and episodic VFX, advertising, experiential work, and Mikros Animation, will now operate under one roof in the city’s 10th arrondissement. The move signals the next phase of Rodeo’s post-acquisition integration strategy as it continues folding Mikros into its broader production pipeline.

Located on Rue Dieu and spanning more than 40,000 square feet, the new facility is designed to centralize production and encourage collaboration across departments. That kind of language is standard in studio expansions, but in this case, it reflects a real structural evolution following Rodeo’s recent growth through acquisition.

In a statement, Rodeo FX CEO Sebastien Moreau framed the move as both validation and escalation of the company’s European ambitions:

We’re incredibly proud to see our Paris office grow at such a remarkable pace. This expansion is a testament to the exceptional work delivered by our local teams and reinforces our decision to bolster Rodeo FX’s European presence. It’s a bold step forward for Rodeo FX and for the creative community in Paris.

The Paris office has scaled quickly since opening, contributing to projects including Luc Besson’s Dracula and Alexandre Astier’s Kaamelott, while also producing commercial work for brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Hermès. The company says the new space will support continued work with key partners such as Netflix and Pathé while improving internal coordination between teams.

Franck Lambertz, VFX supervisor and head of the Paris studio, pointed to the pace of that growth:

The journey we’ve made in just two years has been incredible, with every project pushing us further creatively and technically. Entering this new chapter together, bringing all our teams into a space as inspiring as this, only makes you want to try even harder.

The relocation also formalizes Mikros Animation’s integration into Rodeo’s European operations. Until now, that integration has been largely organizational rather than physical. Mikros, known for titles like PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, will now share infrastructure with Rodeo’s VFX and commercial teams.

Mikros president Julien Meesters described the move as a continuation of that process:

This move represents a key step in our integration within the Rodeo FX family. It’s a natural continuation of our journey, allowing us to leverage a global pipeline and innovative technologies for our next productions.

Rodeo’s Paris consolidation reflects a broader pattern across the VFX and animation industries following Technicolor’s breakup. Studios that expanded through acquisitions are now working through the more complicated task of aligning pipelines, talent, and production cultures, without expanding beyond their means. Rodeo FX is now at that stage in Europe, with Paris positioned as a central hub for that effort.
