Dreamworks Land Dreamworks Land

Disney may be distancing itself from the Sunshine State, but Universal Studios is bringing new attractions to its Florida park and will debut a Dreamworks Animation-themed section sometime in 2024. According to a release, theme park visitors will be able to interact with their favorite characters from key franchises such as Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and Trolls.

Specific details regarding Dreamworks attractions are scant, but in a brief press release announcing the new theme park addition, Universal Orlando Resort explained:

Next year, Universal Orlando Resort will debut an all-new themed land featuring Dreamworks Animation’s beloved animated characters. As guests step into this new land, their imaginations will run wild as they take in the vibrant colors, sights, and sounds that surround them. They will share special moments with their favorite characters like Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse and explore themed, interactive play spaces and attractions that bring popular franchises like Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda to life in the most imaginatively fun ways.

According to the company, bringing Dreamworks characters to the Florida park is a continuation of Comcast/NBC Universal’s plans to bring its most popular stories and characters from the screen to the fans in immersive environments. This summer, Universal Orlando Resort is launching a new slate of Despicable Me attractions featuring an interactive, immersive gaming experience and the company also announced plans to open a new theme park in Frisco, Texas which will specifically cater to families with young children.

The release wraps up by promising more details will be revealed about the Dreamworks additions in the near future.
