Comedy Central has pulled a recent South Park episode from its rerun schedule in the wake of the death of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. The episode, titled Got a Nut,” first aired as part of Season 27 and featured Eric Cartman reinventing himself as a combative online pundit modeled after Kirk’s debate-heavy persona.

Although linear reruns have been dropped, the episode remains available for streaming on Paramount+ at this time.

The story paired two satirical threads: Mr. Mackey picking up extra work with ICE to cover his living expenses, an arc that lampooned Vice President JD Vance and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Cartman’s rise as a conservative podcast star. His rivalry with Clyde Donovan ended in the tongue-in-cheek award ceremony for the “Charlie Kirk Award for Young Master Debaters.”

Kirk himself acknowledged the parody shortly after it aired, calling it a “badge of honor” in a Fox News interview and adding that conservatives should be able to laugh at themselves. He also reposted a clip on his X account with the caption, “Not bad, Cartman.”

News of the episode’s removal follows Kirk’s death earlier this week. He was fatally shot by an unidentified attacker while speaking at a Turning Point USA event hosted at Utah Valley University. The campus appearance had already stirred opposition, as most of Kirk’s impositions did, with more than 1,000 students signing a petition against it. Utah state law permits open carry of registered firearms on college campuses.

Aside from the singular programming change, South Park will continue its current biweekly run, with the next new episode scheduled to air September 23 on Comedy Central and premiere the following day on Paramount+.
