Academy Museum Animation Programs Academy Museum Animation Programs

This Saturday, March 2, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present a pair of programs dedicated to the 2024 animation Oscar nominees, with many of the filmmakers in attendance.

Hosted at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the day will start at 11 am with a panel featuring all five animated short nominees introducing their films, followed by screenings of each.

At 4 pm, representatives from at least four of the five nominated features will participate in a panel to talk about their films and their approach to the filmmaking processes. The Academy’s short and feature animation branch governors, Jinko Gotoh and Marlon West, will moderate the discussion.

Throughout the day, attendees will have access to the Museum’s Sidney Poitier Grand Lobby, where a showcase of items from this year’s nominated films will be displayed. The items will include concept artwork, character maquettes, and reference materials.

Those interested in attending should know that seating at both presentations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. It’s also worth noting that the panels are separate events, and separate admission is required for each.
