Toronto, Wednesday, 28 September 2011…  Guru Studio is coming to MIPCOM 2011 with two new animated series in development for preschoolers and 8-12 year olds, and a breakthrough magazine show for teens.

Now in development for preschoolers, Port Little (26 x 11 min.) is an animated series about how people and things move and how transportation helps everyone share each and every day. Port Little is a bustling town where people go to solve their moving needs. It’s like a post office only instead of mail they move giant whales, prickly cacti and snowmen before they melt. Good thing they have the little movers, each with their own vehicle to help!

For 8-12 year olds, Shawn vs. Ben (26 x 22min.) is a tale of two frenemies. Shawn Bicker and Ben Ng have had a twisty history. And, it’s about to get even twistier. Ever since he was a tyke, 10-year-old Ben has been clashing with Shawn, a beefy 12-year-old creepstain who rules their ‘hood with an iron fist. No one has dared to stand up to the kid … except for the brave Ben, who’s been foiling Shawn’s schemes of pie-throwing practical jokes and/or town conquest since the two were in pull-ups. They’re like Batman and the Joker. Superman and Lex Luthor. Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty. Pepsi and Coke. A true rivalry for the ages!

Guru’s new show for teens, Stash (26 x 22min.), is series of mind blowing short films and music videos, rolled into half hours of comedy and inspired weirdness. Each episode of Stash rips open the extensive video archive of Stash Magazine to showcase extraordinary short films and music videos of today’s most gifted directors.

“We are thrilled to be coming to Cannes with a diverse development state of programming for kid and teen audiences. These new programs demonstrate Guru Studio’s mission to produce innovative content that young audiences — of all ages — will want to watch,” said Mary Bredin, Vice President, Development & Acquisitions at Guru Studio.
