NYICFF’s Scholarship Program

NYICFF’s film production workshops give children ages 6-16 an opportunity to collaborate with filmmakers to conceive, write, storyboard, produce, shoot, edit and score a short film in a variety of genres, including clay animation, 2D animation, documentary filmmaking, and film-acting. Twenty percent of enrollment space in each workshop is reserved for low income students who receive full scholarships.

In 2012, NYICFF aims to offer 20 full scholarships to ten unique film production workshops. NYICFF strives to ensure the economic and cultural diversity of our audience by offering discounted tickets to partnering public schools; bringing Title 1 school groups to Festival screenings free of charge and by offering full scholarships to children from low income families to attend NYICFF’s film production workshops, an immensely educational experience which fosters creativity and builds self-confidence.
