After steadily ramping up their animation capabilities, media-services studio Nola Pictures is launching the full-service animation division, NolaMola. Born in part from the critically acclaimed animated short The Spider created by Juan Delcan for Louise Bourgeois in 2008, the studio hopes to make films in collaboration with fine artists a key component of its workflow. A collaborative film inspired by the work of Kiki Smith is currently in development scheduled for release in late 2011.

The talented crew, including Director Juan Delcan and with JJ Wilmoth heading up production, has also conceived and produced plenty of captivating animation for commercial projects including Pfizer, Chilevision, De Beers, CFDA, JetBlue, Sundance Channel, Burlington Coat Factory, Weis Markets and U2. The Chilevision piece La Verdad recently took top honors at this year’s ASIFA-East animation festival.

“Make no mistake, NolaMola is a full-service studio, capable of taking on any project, no matter how large or small,” stated EP Charlie Curran. “We have an incredible talent roster in place and a solid range of projects stacked on our reel. There is not an animation project that could come through our door that we wouldn’t deliver on and be excited about doing just that.”
