‘Toy Story 5’ Passes $1 Billion At Global Box Office, 2026’s Highest-Grossing Film So Far

Pixar’s Toy Story 5 crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office over the weekend, becoming the studio’s sixth film to reach the milestone.

The sequel added an estimated $34.7 million worldwide during its sixth weekend in theaters, including $10 million in the U.S. and Canada. That was good enough for third place domestically and worldwide, behind The Odyssey and Disney’s live-action Moana in North America and The Odyssey and All Wishes Come True! globally.

Directed by franchise vet Andrew Stanton and co-directed by McKenna Harris, Toy Story 5 has now earned $448.6 million domestically and $573.5 million internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $1.02 billion.

• Toy Story 5 is the highest-grossing film of 2026 to date and the year’s third billion-dollar release, following The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Michael.
• Its $159.7 million domestic opening was the year’s biggest and a franchise record, easily surpassing the $120.9 million debut of Toy Story 4.
• It has already become the highest-grossing Toy Story film in North America, passing the fourth film’s $434 million lifetime total and Toy Story 3’s $415 million.
• Worldwide, it currently ranks third in the franchise. Toy Story 4 finished with $1.073 billion and Toy Story 3 with $1.067 billion, totals the new film should soon surpass.
