Genndy Tartakovsky’s ‘Fixed’ Gets R-Rated Trailer Ahead Of Its August 13 Netflix Release
Netflix has released the first trailer for Genndy Tartakovsky’s Fixed, the adults-only comedy from Sony Pictures Animation that almost never saw distribution but will soon be available in territories around the world starting August 13. Once shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery, the film now joins Netflix’s expanding slate of adult-oriented animated features.
Fixed tells the story of Bull, a lovable family dog who, upon learning he’s scheduled to be neutered the next morning, embarks on a wild last-night adventure with his canine friends. The film is described as a “rated-R Lady and the Tramp” that evolved into a uniquely cartoonish, exaggerated 2D comedy.
Tartakovsky, best known for creating Dexter’s Laboratory and Samurai Jack and directing the first three Hotel Transylvania films, co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Vitti (The Simpsons Movie). The film is produced by Michelle Murdocca and animated by top-tier 2D talent from around the world.
Originally co-produced by Sony Pictures and New Line Cinema, Fixed was abandoned post-completion by Warner Bros. in yet another puzzling move from the studio. Sony, despite its previous success with adult animation like Sausage Party, opted to shop the film elsewhere until Netflix stepped in.
The film’s voice cast features Adam Devine, Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Fred Armisen, Bobby Moynihan, Beck Bennett, Michelle Buteau, and River Gallo.
