Pixelatl Drops Dazzling 2025 Festival Trailer From Argentina’s Rudo Company
Mexico’s leading animation festival, Pixelatl, running September 9–13 in Guadalajara, has dropped its 2025 trailer, a charming and colorful short by Argentina’s acclaimed Rudo Company.
Known for their commercial work with companies such as Apple, Nike, Adidas, Cartoon Network, and MTV, Rudo brings a bold, eclectic vision to Latin America’s leading celebration of animation, comics, and video games. Last year, we featured a Rudo co-production, Esther, in our Cartoon forum coverage as one of the event’s standout titles.
Each year, Pixelatl invites a Latin American studio to define the festival’s unique branding. For this edition, Rudo embraced the theme “Encanta al mundo” (“Enchant the world”) by crafting a short that disrupts monotony with the spark of imagination.
According to the Rudo studio director and director of the short, Pablo R. Roldán, the team built the film like a visual cadáver exquisite (exquisite corpse): “Each artist took on a sequence with their own design and animation style, creating a patchwork that still feels cohesive. The challenge was balancing the individuality of each ‘mini-piece’ with the overall flow,” she told Cartoon Brew.
The trailer was a true collaboration, involving 14 artists from Rudo, plus five collaborators from Córdoba’s 440 Studio, who composed music and sound design. Production began in March with art exploration, moving into full animation in May and wrapping mid-August.
With its kaleidoscopic mix of styles and vibrant energy, the trailer captures Pixelatl’s spirit: a festival where creative voices across Latin America come together to inspire, collaborate, and enchant the world.
