Netflix has revealed that it will launch Matt Groening’s new adult comedy-fantasy series Disenchantment on August 17, 2018.

Ten episodes will premiere at that time, followed by 10 more episodes that will arrive at a later date.

The show, which was announced last July, takes place in the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where the hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci have a series of encounters and misadventures with ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, and walruses.

The series will feature the voice talents of Abbi Jacobson (Bean), Nat Faxon (Elfo), and Eric Andre (Luci), along with John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.

Animation is being produced by Rough Draft Studios, which also did Futurama.

The series is produced by The Ululu Company, with Matt Groening and Josh Weinstein (The Simpsons, Futurama) serving as executive producers.
