South Park South Park

International South Park fans have lost access to the show on Paramount+ after the long-running animated series was pulled from the platform outside the U.S. following the expiration of an international streaming license. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount is working on bringing the show back, but in the meantime, subscribers are looking for other ways to access the series.

For now, South Park specials are still available, and the show lives on at Comedy Central. But the vanishing act comes at a stressful time for the franchise. The show’s 27th season premiere was just delayed two weeks, from July 9 to July 23, thanks to an ongoing streaming rights spat between creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Paramount Global.

Parker and Stone have threatened legal action, accusing Paramount’s soon-to-be overlord Jeff Shell of meddling with their deals. The beef has been stirred further by the looming Paramount-Skydance merger, which is currently waiting for FCC approval. It’s safe to say the creative duo is unhappy with the current situation; last week, they tweeted a message saying, “This merger is a shitshow and it’s fucking up South Park. We are at the studio working on new episodes, and we hope the fans get to see them somehow.”

That “somehow” now looks all the more ominous to international fans.
