Most readers know what a character animation, effects, or lighting reel looks like, but what about a cloth and hair reel?

Claudio Gonzalez has been a cloth and hair technical director for the last ten years, and recently updated his reel that showcases work from projects like Man of Steel, The BFG, The Angry Birds Movie, Wonder Woman, and X-Men: Days of Future Past. In his time as a cloth and hair TD, he was worked on over 25 features.

Gonzalez also offers some excellent advice to up-and-coming artists who are preparing to enter the cg and vfx industries: “My hope is that when people see my reel, they aspire to do something more niche in visual effects. I started off as an animator, but found the competition for work to be very, very tough. So I decided to go a different direction. As a result, I have been lucky enough to work at some of the most world-renowned vfx studios in the world. I love the world of cloth and hair simulation!”
