Paramount+ has released the first teaser for Avatar: Seven Havens, the next 2D-animated series set in the world of its hugely popular Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. The show will premiere globally on the streamer on October 9.
Set after The Legend of Korra, Seven Havens follows Pavi, a young Earthbender who discovers that she is Korra’s successor as the Avatar. The teaser offers a brief glimpse of Korra in the Avatar State before introducing a world transformed by a devastating cataclysm. Civilization now survives within seven remaining havens, and the Avatar is regarded as humanity’s destroyer rather than its savior.
Pavi and her long-lost twin sister, Nisha, must uncover the truth about their origins while being pursued by human and spirit enemies. The series will go against modern streaming standards and receive a full 26-episode season divided into two 13-episode books, which will surely please fans who are tired of the 10-episode slog that most modern series get.
This week’s teaser and premiere date were revealed during the franchise’s first Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. The panel also focused on the upcoming animated feature Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, with director Lauren Montgomery joining creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino and voice actors Eric Nam, Dave Bautista, Román Zaragoza, Jessica Matten, and Dionne Quan. The film, which follows the original “Gaang” as adults, premieres July 25 on Paramount+.
Konietzko and DiMartino also announced that Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is available now for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
