Netflix, TF1, And Super RTL Board ‘Ghostforce Evolution’ Series From The Studio Behind ‘Miraculous’
Zag has announced that Ghostforce Evolution, a new series based on its Ghostforce franchise, is officially in production, with Netflix, French broadcaster TF1, and Germany’s Super RTL signed on as premiere partners.
Set in New York City, the show follows teens Andy, Liv, and Mike as they juggle school life, friendships, and crushes while secretly operating as the superhero team Ghost Force. Guided by scientist Luna Jones, the trio faces supernatural threats unleashed by villain Prince Onara and the imprisoned ghost king Buriburi.
According to a Zag release, the new series will place greater emphasis on fears that young viewers can relate to, with each episode centering on challenges ranging from storms and snakes to technology and the unknown.
Ian Lambur, executive vice president of series at ZAG, said in a release:
The original Ghostforce series introduced audiences to a superhero trio protecting New York City from fear-driven ghosts, quickly building a global fanbase with its blend of comedy, action, and relatable teen dynamics. With Ghostforce Evolution, we’re leaning into what ZAG and Jeremy Zag do best — crafting stories filled with magic, heart, and adventure, where everyday teens rise as extraordinary heroes, much like Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.
The announcement marks the latest chapter for a property that has been part of ZAG’s plans for more than a decade. We first reported on Ghostforce in 2014, when Jeremy Zag unveiled the project as one of the key properties being developed through the company’s new Los Angeles-based production operation. Since then, the franchise has grown into a global television brand, with Ghostforce Evolution representing its most significant expansion yet.
