Netflix Revisits ‘Big Mouth’ Blueprint In Official ‘Mating Season’ Trailer

Netflix has released the first trailer for Mating Season, its latest adult animated series from the creative team behind Big Mouth, one of its all-time most successful animated series. The show premieres on May 22.

Produced by Titmouse, which also animated Big Mouth and its Human Resources spinoff, Mating Season continues Netflix’s ongoing relationship with the studio, which has become a key vendor for adult-oriented animation across many platforms and broadcasters.

The project is executive produced by Mark Levin, Jennifer Flackett, Andrew Goldberg, and Nick Kroll, alongside Titmouse leadership Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina. The voice cast includes Nick Kroll, Zach Woods, June Diane Raphael, and Sabrina Jalees.

Working with so many familiar faces underscores Netflix’s current strategy of doubling down on established creative pipelines and partnerships when launching new IPs.

Set in an anthropomorphic animal world, the series leans into romantic comedy while maintaining the frank sexual humor that defined Big Mouth. The trailer suggests a tone that blends relationship satire with nature documentary parody, positioning the show within Netflix’s broader slate of adult animation that prioritizes repeatable formats and recognizable comedic voices.
