Produced by Blink Industries in the U.K., Alley Cats follows a group of feral British cats from different walks of life as they navigate friendship, loneliness, and the frustrations of everyday existence. According to Netflix, the series blends absurd comedy with the kind of social observation and emotional undercurrents that have become hallmarks of Gervais’ work.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about a trailer,” Gervais said in a release. “I can’t wait for everyone to get to know these cats.”

Gervais serves as creator, writer, director, and executive producer. Elliot Dear co-directs the series. Executive producers include Steven Hamilton Shaw, James Stevenson Bretton, and Ben Lole, while Hugo Donkin produces.

The creator is joined in the show’s voice cast by Tom Basden, Andrew Brooke, David Earl, Kerry Godliman, Jo Hartley, Diane Morgan, Natalie Cassidy, and Tony Way.

Blink Industries, whose recent credits include the Netflix series Dead End: Paranormal Park, the cult hit Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, and the upcoming The Young Magicians (announced this morning), handled animation production.
