Stranger Things Stranger Things

Netflix has announced a new animated series adaptation of the Duffer Brothers’ Stranger Things. It’s being developed by Flying Bark Productions and executive producer Eric Robles.

This isn’t the first time the kids from Hawkins will be animated. Netflix has released several successful mobile games and some really fun animated teasers in the past.

Netflix hasn’t shared much info about the show yet, and no plot details, but here’s what we know so far:

  • Eric Robles is executive producing. He has previously created two Nickelodeon series: Fanboy & Chum Chum and Glitch Techs (co-creator). The latter was supposed to be a Nick series that ultimately ended up at Netflix.
  • The Stranger Things animate series will also be executive produced by the Duffer Brothers on behalf of Upside Down Pictures along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen at 21 Laps and Robles.
  • Said the Duffer Brothers in a release: “We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling. We couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with — the scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues…”
  • Flying Bark is a trans-pacific indie animation house with offices in Sydney and Los Angeles. The studio recently worked on Marvel’s Disney+ series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and was tapped to animate a new Avatar: The Last Airbender film for Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation.
