The Snoopy Show The Snoopy Show

Apple TV+ has unveiled its summer kids and family programming slate, highlighted by a trio of new Peanuts productions.

New original Peanuts titles include specials Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie and Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin, and the new series Camp Snoopy. Each is produced by Wildbrain, which also made this year’s Canada Screen Awards best animated series winner The Snoopy Show, which will be back for its third season on June 9.

Premiering on August 18, Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie stars introverted Marcie who is elected as class president, a position she never expected or wanted. Thrust into the public eye, Marcie must juggle her new responsibilities along with prior commitments while dealing with the discomfort of so much attention.

Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin is the origin story of its titular protagonist. The son of a military man, Franklin is regularly uprooted and forced to make new friends at new schools. Struggling to fit in with the Peanuts gang, Franklin’s breakthrough comes when he teams with Charlie Brown to participate in a soap box derby race.

In Camp Snoopy, two parallel summer camp stories unwind. In one, Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts set out to earn performance badges they need to save their troop. Meanwhile, the Peanuts gang enjoys a typical summer camp adventure at Camp Spring Lake.

Other returning Apple TV+ programs this summer include:

  • A new Duck & Goose special on June 9
  • Season two of Lovely Little Farm on June 16.
  • Season two of Duck & Goose on July 7
  • New Eva the Owlet shorts on August 4
  • Peanuts Anthology III and IV on September 22

Cartoon Brew’s View: Still no release date announced for Skydance’s next animated feature Spellbound, but the film will get a work in progress panel at Annecy, and should debut sometime later this year.
