Crunchyroll And Starz Launch Discounted Streaming Bundle On Prime Video

Crunchyroll and Starz are teaming on a new streaming bundle that combines the Sony-owned anime platform with the cable network’s film and TV lineup.

The package is available now in the U.S. through Prime Video Channels for $16.99 per month after a seven-day free trial. That represents a 23% discount for anyone who would otherwise subscribe individually to Crunchyroll’s and Starz’s services.

The somewhat surprising pairing gives subscribers access to Crunchyroll’s anime catalog, including series such as One Piece, Solo Leveling, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, alongside Starz programming including Outlander, the Power franchise, and a rotating selection of films.

The deal is the latest example of streaming companies using bundling to combat cancellations and make their services more attractive in an increasingly crowded market. Prime Video Channels has become a major hub for such packages, allowing subscribers to manage multiple services and watch their content through a single platform, much the way cable did for decades before streaming, seemingly temporarily, disrupted things.

For Crunchyroll, the partnership provides another route for the once-niche medium of anime to reach mainstream streaming audiences. Starz, meanwhile, gains access to Crunchyroll’s large and highly engaged anime fanbase.
