Netflix has announced that production is underway on Season 2 of Blue Eye Samurai and released a new featurette at Anime NYC 2025 to mark the occasion.

In the video, co-creators Amber Noizumi and Michael Green stress that Mizu’s story will continue to be defined by her uncompromising pursuit of vengeance, with Noizumi remarking that “revenge is her religion,” and hinting that at least two of her remaining enemies will appear in London, the new setting teased for the upcoming season.

While Netflix has not yet confirmed a release date, the featurette makes clear that production at Frances Blue Spirit is in full swing, with S2 widely expected to premiere in 2026. The season will reportedly consist of six episodes, in line with earlier plans. Since its debut in 2023, Blue Eye Samurai has earned widespread praise for its striking animation, layered storytelling, and bold themes, quickly establishing itself as one of Netflix’s standout original anime series. The show’s first season won four Primetime Emmys and six Annies.

Netflix’s Anime NYC showcase didn’t stop with Blue Eye Samurai. The streamer also shared a trailer for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, based on Ubisoft’s stealth video game franchise.

Capcom’s demon-hunting saga Devil May Cry also got a teaser for its second season, promising more high-octane battles led by Dante after the success of its first run.

And Warner Bros. Japan’s Record of Ragnarok III got a sneak peek of its own. The series is set to continue its over-the-top tournament of gods versus humanity with even greater spectacle.
